Nine Dirty Reds dominate selections in the Monaro rugby side to play in the Brumbies Provincial Tournament this weekend.

Along with the large Goulburn contingent in the side, the Monaro squad includes six Yass players, four Jindabyne players and one each from ADFA, Cooma and Easts.

The Monaro side, co-coached by Goulburn coach Ben Pearson, will compete in a round-robin tournament against South Coast and Southern Inlands teams at ANU North Oval this Saturday, 12 June 2021.

Selection for the Monaro side forms the first step in a significant selection pathway open to ACT & Southern NSW players this season.

From the Brumbies Provincial tournament, players will be chosen for the Brumbies Country (ACT Country) representative side, which will compete with the Brumbies City side (made up of players from the John I Dent and Spence Cup competitions) on 18 September this year

Players from that match will be chosen for the ACT Griffins team which will in turn compete in the Australian Rugby Shield in Adelaide over the long weekend in October.

The complete coaching staff consists of co-coaches Ben Pearson (Goulburn), Andy Hewitt (Yass), Manager Bronson Sainsbury (Yass) and strappers/medicos Anthony White and Wayne Cooke (Goulburn).
