Barbarians maul Marists in powerful debut
The U13s had there first taste of the ACTJRU competition on Saturday May 4.
The side is composed of Goulburn juniors and Yass juniors. For a team that had not trained or played together prior to there first outing they made both parents and clubs proud notching up there first win of the season against a determined Marist team.
Known as the Barbarians, they played just like a Barbarian team with some entertaining rugby for there first hit out as a team. It was a great team effort to keep Marist scoreless and the Barbarians were able to run in a few tries to take the victory in a hard fought match played in great spirit through out the game.
The forwards played well as a unit ,with some great individual runs from our hard running forwards and with the backs capitalising and taking advantage of some great yards made by the Barbarian pack.
Best and fairest points went to Bryce Carey (3), Hayden Collings (2) and Toby Klem (1).
