U13 Eddies beat Barbarians at Poidevin Oval

Barbarians played St Edmunds at Poidevin Oval, going down in a hard fort contest 24 – 10.

This game was one of the toughest tests for the improving Barbarian team.

The Barbarians started the game extremely well with some good teamwork leading up to Bryce Carey scoring the  first try for the day. Dart and Sam Glover were spoiling well at the breakdown.

St Eddies fought back scoring a couple of good team tries to take the lead into the half time break.

Barbarians came out in the second half with a bit more vigour than in the first half, with some great tackles from Jonah and Bryce.

Darcy Cooper, Tyrese and Hayden Collings had some great runs with Hayden scoring the second try for the Barbarians.

St Eddies were a very well drilled side and consolidated their lead in the second half  while the Barbarians were very competitive throughout the game.

The Barbarians just lacked urgency at the breakdown throughout parts of the game. Overall another great team effort considering the guys have only played six games together and not many more training sessions. Well done guys, good effort.
