Rampaging Reds rampant on Poidevin

Goulburn’s only win on the weekend, but an emphatic one, was the women’s 71-0 win against Uni Norths.

With quick retrieval at the breakdown, strong support play and blockbusting runs the Women piled on try after try against a never-say-die but outclassed Uni Norths outfit.

The Reds had six tries (half of those converted) on the board by half time and added five more (all converted) by the end.

Co-coach Rob Sheekey described the match as a very pleasing performance.

“That was a much better effort and execution than we delivered in our last match,” he said.

“Our handling was much better and our support play was fantastic. The most pleasing part to date has been our defence. The side is working hard and improving every week.”

It’s worth pointing out that the tens competition consists of two 20 minute halves, so those 71 points were scored at close to 2 points a minute.

Winger Jasmine Tooth collected a try-fecta and Ash Mewburn kicked 6 conversions.
