Goulburn 15s too strong for Eddies even with a slim bench

Despite trailing at half time and one only one sub on the bench, Goulburn U15s roughed it to defeat St Edmunds 33 to 24 at St Eddies. 

What this team has is a consistent group of players who are starting to know each other’s games and stick solid with each other.

Goulburn has been playing well with some fairly good wins, but make no mistake, playing Eddies at Eddies is another challenge again…one that Goulburn accepted with an extra serve of relish today. 

While Eddies was busy at half time doing a second round of player introductions, Coaches Seaman and Barker were reinforcing to the team that while they were down at half time, with some disciplined play, Goulburn could come back and roll over the top of Eddies. And that is what they did.

It is hard to single out players for special mentions after a great team performance… but here are a few:

Josh Clarke for a strong all round game; Bailey ‘Shimmy Shimmy Shake’ Shipp as a roving winger; Joe Simmons for an energetic bustling game; Matt Seaman developing into a good little leader; Connor Hughes had his best game; ‘Nobody’ Craig – say no more; the red headgear twins (Josh Evans and Brendan O’Rourke) – not sure which is which but red headgear is always in the thick of things.

Not many games to go…the boys must remain focussed and work hard…..the season is there for the taking if they don’t take anything for granted.
