Against a bigger and much more experienced team, the Reds more than held their own for long periods of time.

An initial two try bust by the ViQueens had the home side on the back foot early, with Tuggeranong using their forwards to bash the ball up and over the line. However, once the Reds settled, they dominated much of the first half.

Brumby Sass Cudaj continued her try-scoring run at Poidevin, picking up a double with some trademark barnstorming runs either side of the break, keeping the Reds well and truly in the game.

The Reds had heavy possession in the middle of the match, but couldn’t convert the pressure into much-needed points. Some late tries by the ViQueens pushed the score out at the end, but the Reds players should be extremely proud of their efforts. It was a hit out that showed last year’s 10s competition premiers belong in the Women’s Premier 15s, and the side will only continue to improve as the season continues.
