Dirty Reds Women secure semi-final spot in win over Wests

The Goulburn Dirty Reds Women have secured a semi-final spot in their first season in the ACT Premier Division, with a scrappy 17-10 win over the Wests Lionesses.
Between byes and wash outs, it’s been weeks since the Goulburn women have taken to the field, and it showed.
Neither side could get much continuity, nor build up pressure with sustained possession in a very stop-start match.
A brace of tries to captain Jordan Brooker was the difference in the end, with Chloe Waddell also picking up an important five pointer. The winless Lionesses gave the Reds a fright in the second half, scoring two tries and threatening to overrun the home side, but the Reds held their nerve to pick up their second win of the season.
Now the Reds have blown out the rust, it will be a big week at training before they host the table-topping Uni Norths Owls at Poidevin next Saturday.
