Ready to register for 2020? Here’s how…

Are you ready (or Reddy?) and raring to go for season 2020? Brumbies Rugby have cleared the way and provided the ACT&SNSW Return to Play Framework for Community Rugby (which you can read it here) and the registration window is now reopened.

Goulburn Rugby junior (ACT competition) and senior players and supporters can now register for the Goulburn Rugby Club 2020 season and draws will be available shortly. The Goulburn Rugby Club has taken the difficult decision to call off the Fizzy Reds competition for 2020 due to specific complications relating to health, safety and logistics, but it as anticipated that a number of one-day galas will take place instead, and the competition will return bigger and better next year.

All people involved in the club’s rugby teams, and not just the players, must register for insurance purposes. Registration is free for coaches, managers and life members, costs $10 for social members and costs the relevant registration fee applied to senior and junior players. The registration options are as follows:

Non-players can choose from the following options:

  • Coach
  • Volunteer (Refs, Managers, Trainers and Life Members)
  • Training-only participant
  • Social member (cost $10 – available under Senior Club)

Players have three payment options this year… they can pay for the whole season, for a month at a time, or pay each week. The fees for each are:

SENIORS:

  • Season registration: $180
  • Monthly registration: $75
  • Weekly registration: $28.50

JUNIORS (U13-U18):

  • Season registration: $145

NOTE: All registration fees have had discounts applied by ACT and Goulburn Rugby Union.

HOW TO REGISTER – JUNIORS:

(1) You can download the “Rugby Xplorer” app and follow the links to find your email or My Rugby number… or set up a new registration if you haven’t played before; OR You can go to myaccount.rugby.com.au and follow the links there.

(2) Select CLUB: Goulburn Junior Rugby Union

(3) Select ROLE: Player (Or Coach or Volunteer)

(4) Select REGISTRATION TYPE: XVs Juniors

(5) Select DURATION: Season

  • At some point it will ask you to Add Active Kids Voucheron the Registration Summary page. A pop-up will appear where you enter your voucher number and the pin will default to your child’s DOB. You will need to agree to Rugby AU Terms and Conditions before continuing. The voucher will be redeemed and deducted from your overall registration fees.
  • At this stage the ACTJRU has not set up an option for Monthly or Weekly registration. Goulburn expects to field teams in the U14s, U15s, U16s and U18s competitions but may field other teams should numbers warrant it.
  • Coaches, Managers also need to register. Their registration is free… just select Coach (for coaches) and Volunteer (managers, trainers, other helpers).
  • For players who have already registered with another club this year, begin the above process and it will notice that you have already registered with a club which will trigger an application for clearance from your previous club (eg Trinity). In terms of cost, if you have paid registration in this competition already, you will only be liable for the Goulburn Junior Rugby Club component of the fees (which for Juniors is $16.25) and may be eligible for a refund from your previous club if that registration included a club component.

HOW TO REGISTER – SENIORS:

(1) You can download the “Rugby Xplorer” app and follow the links to find your email or My Rugby number… or set up a new registration if you haven’t played before; OR You can go to myaccount.rugby.com.au and follow the links there.

(2) Select CLUB: Goulburn Rugby Union

(3) Select ROLE: Player (Or Coach or Volunteer)

(4) Select REGISTRATION TYPE: XVs

(5) Select DURATION: Season or Monthly or Weekly

NOTES FOR ALL PLAYERS:

  • Players participating in trials, training and tournaments are reminded they are not covered by insurance unless they are registered.
  • If you choose Monthly or Weekly registration, there is no cap. For example, if you paid monthly for 4 months, that would cost 4 x $75 = $300. If you’ve paid one or more payments weekly and wish to switch to monthly (or monthly and wish to switch to season) it doesn’t discount the amount you’ve already spent. If you sign up for weekly or monthly registration… the clock starts ticking instantly.
  • Regarding refunds, ACT will be providing information shortly. Essentially those who have paid an amount at the registration cost BEFORE the discount had been applied will be eligible for a refund. While many individuals have been significantly impacted financially by the pandemic, so too have Brumbies and individual rugby clubs, so individuals will be given the option of requesting their refund, or allowing their Club to keep the difference.
