Special jacket for Geoffro

Special jacket for Geoffro

Geoffrey’s Angels. Coming soon to Netflix.

The Goulburn Rugby Club presented one of its favourite sons with a club jacket on Saturday night.

The club’s assistant manager and head hydrologist since 2000, Geoff Shepherd is one of the busiest members of the club. In addition to assistant managing and water duties, he has been helping his father Chris Shepherd with field mowing, marking and maintenance in recent years and also films many of the games.

“Geoffro is always the first to put his hand up to help in any way, and I don’t think he’s missed a match since he’s been with us,” Committee member Kelly Anable said.

Kelly came up with the idea when new jackets were available online and ordered one for Geoff with players chipping in to pay for it.

“We all just love his guts and so we thought this was a tangible way to show our appreciation,” Kelly said.

“He’s always chasing me up for the women’s draw. Always wants to turn up and cheer them on and of course video their games for them.

“The girls love his enthusiasm, as do the boys, and he brings a very positive vibe to the club each and every week. He’s always got a smile on his face and a hug to give.

“He’s a well loved team member by all grades.”
