Two good for ADFA

The ADFA cadets were delayed getting off the bus due to a bit of a parking SNAFU, and that proved to be symbolic for their 54-17 match against the Goulburn Dirty Twos.

Quarantined for the last two weeks (purely as a precautionary measure) ADFA showed signs of ring rust.

While they were strong in the centre and able to meet the Reds head-on in set pieces and broken play, ADFA had few answers for a series of individual breaks and signs of brilliance out wide.

It was shaping up as a cakewalk but ADFA clawed their way back to trail just 21-17 at the break.

Despite Goulburn’s slight lead, ADFA was proving very strong in the meat of it, even holding the better of territorial advantage.  But they weren’t able to sustain that.

The Dirty Twos piled on 33-0 in the second half as the cadets ran out of puff and ran out of answers.

Nick Cornish ran in four tries (plus a fifth one later in first grade) to take the lead as the club’s leading tryscorer (9) and pointscorer (53) after three rounds. Izzy Tittor scored two tries and Mitch Cornish, in his debut for the club, slotted three conversions.
